Create a Bitget API key
Bitget keys have three parts: key, secret and the passphrase you choose.
Before you start
- Use a sub-account with a limited balance if you can.
- For practice use Bitget's Demo Trading and choose “Testnet” when you add the key.
Steps
- 1Log in to Bitget and open your profile → API Key Management.
- 2Create API Key → “System-generated”.
- 3Choose a name and a passphrase. Write the passphrase down — you need it in the app.
- 4Permissions: “Read and write”; tick Spot trade, and Futures for futures bots.
- 5Leave Withdraw and Transfer unticked.
- 6Confirm and copy the API Key and Secret.
- 7In the app: API keys → Add key → Bitget, paste key, secret and passphrase, and save.

- Spot: Tradeon
- Futures: Orders & positions (futures bots only)on

Tip: Lost the passphrase? It can't be recovered — delete the key at Bitget and create a new one.
