Create a Binance API key
A key that can trade but can NEVER withdraw. Takes about 3 minutes.
Before you start
- Use a sub-account with only the money you want the bot to trade (recommended).
- To practise first, create a test key and choose “Testnet” when you add it. Spot: testnet.binance.vision. Futures: Binance Demo Trading (demo.binance.com → API Management) — the old futures testnet was retired.
Steps
- 1Log in to Binance and open Profile → API Management.
- 2Create API → “System generated”. Give it a name, e.g. “AI Trade Bot”, and confirm with your security check.
- 3Click Edit restrictions. Turn ON “Enable Spot & Margin Trading”. For futures bots also turn ON “Enable Futures”.
- 4Make sure “Enable Withdrawals” and “Permits Universal Transfer” stay OFF.
- 5Save. Copy the API Key and the Secret Key — Binance shows the secret only once.
- 6In the app: API keys → Add key → Binance, paste both, choose Testnet or Live, and save.
- Enable Readingon
- Enable Spot & Margin Tradingon
- Enable Futures (futures bots only)on
- Enable Withdrawalsoff
- Permits Universal Transferoff
- Enable Margin Loan, Repay & Transferoff
If the key is rejected
- “This key can withdraw funds” — turn off withdrawals on the key (or make a new one).
- “This key cannot trade” — enable spot trading (and futures for futures bots).
- We check your keys again every day. A key that later gains withdrawal rights is disabled and its bots stop.
Important: Never share your secret key with anyone — our team will never ask for it.
